Background Information

Please refer to our blog article regarding contact names.

The following instructions explain how to edit or change the radio name or number from the front panel of the radio. If you cannot access one or more of these menus they may have been disabled by your radio system administrator.

To edit a Radio Name
 Note that a timer will return the radio to the main display if you do not press any key for 30 seconds and your changes will be lost. Pressing [] will take you to the preceding menu and your changes will be lost. Contacts cannot have identical names.
  1. Switch on the radio.
  2. Press [OK] and then [▼] or  [▲] until ‘Programming’ is selected, then press [OK] again.
  3. Press [▼] or  [▲] until ‘Radio’ is selected, then press [OK] again.
  4. Press [▼] or  [▲] until ‘Radio Name’ is selected, then press [OK] again.
  5. Use the radio keypad to enter the new name (see the Keypad Text Entry table below).
  6. Press [OK​] to save the change.
To edit a Radio Number

  1. Switch on the radio.
  2. Press [OK] and then [▼] or  [▲] until ‘Programming’ is selected, then press [OK] again.
  3. Press [▼] or  [▲] until ‘Radio’ is selected, then press [OK] again.
  4. Press [▼] or  [▲] until ‘Radio ID’ is selected, then press [OK] again.
  5. Use the radio keypad to enter the new number.
  6. Press [OK] to save the change.
Keypad Text Entry

During text entry (contact names and messages) the radio keypad has the following text functions. For example, to enter a ? you must press the [1] key four times. When you press a different key the radio will automatically move forward to the next character.
